What to See and Taste in the Big Apple

New York City is one of the top destinations globally, with over sixty-five million visitors stopping in to see what it has to offer.  If you’ve never been in town, it can be a lot to take in!  There are thousands of shops, thousands of restaurants, and endless fun and entertainment to find within these iconic streets. Let’s see what to see and taste in The Big Apple.

These are the attractions that are the most dazzling in NYC and are all things you should try next time you’re here!

The Top Restaurants

The food in the Big Apple is in a league of its own!  Although there are thousands of restaurants in town, the selection makes decisions even more difficult.  Although you can get a one-dollar slice of pizza or hotdog on nearly any street: some restaurants shine brighter than the rest.

One of the most popular is La Bernardin!  This restaurant is rated 4.7 stars out of 5 from nearly three thousand ratings, and although it’s expensive, the elite french seafood it offers is unlike anything you’ve ever tasted.  Chef Eric Ripert crafts every meal to transcend and delight, and the atmosphere of the restaurant will make you feel like you’ve taken a step into paradise.

The Best Activities

If you’ve never been, you may assume that the top things to do in NYC are visiting Broadway or making it to the top of the Empire State building: but there’s so much more to this city than that! For example, you could enjoy a helicopter tour that will raise you above the city lights and let you stare down at it as it roars away with excitement, or you could take a quiet and reflective walk through the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Of course, you can still enjoy the classic tourist traps, like visiting the Statue of Liberty or visiting Times Square, but there’s enough in this city that you could spend years exploring the rest of it without feeling like you’re missing out.

The Top Sights

One of the most beautiful things in NYC is, of course: Central Park.  This beautiful greenery is over 150 years old, allowing the city some room to breathe and relax in the middle of the rush of daily life.  It covers 778 acres, and although many from outside the city may not see the excitement of spending time in a park, it’s a large piece of cultural importance for NYC.

While you’re in town, of course, there are other places to snap quick pictures!  These include the Brooklyn Bridge, the American Museum of Natural History, and even the Guggenheim Museum!

The Best Shopping

If you have room in your luggage to take some goodies home or you’re renting one of the many incredible New York apartments, shopping is a must.

The top places to shop in NYC are SoHo, which has beautiful cast-iron architecture and a lot of gorgeous artsy shops.  Chinatown, for something out of the ordinary and attractive that you can’t find anywhere else, and West Village, for vivid colors and designers that aren’t available in any other city.
